Thomas Mahoney Obituary, Death- The members of the Triploli Pool League would like to express their deepest condolences to Thomas Mahoney’s family and friends on the loss of their good friend and fellow shooter, Thomas Mahoney.
Even though we were informed of his departure just yesterday, it causes us a great deal of distress to realize that he has been gone for the past two years. The passage of time has a way of creeping up on us, leaving us with the heavy burden of regret for the missed opportunity to make contact earlier.
Tommy was a superb player who earned a reputation for his no-nonsense strategy during games. You either liked him or found him challenging, but there was no one who could deny the passion he had for the game of pool or the warmth and care he displayed to those he held closest to him.
I, Tami Lyn, count it as one of the best fortunes of my life to have had the opportunity to be friends with Tommy. Even going so far as to compete in a Partners tournament in Portland together is a memory that never fails to put a smile on my face.
The journey to that competition on the road with Tommy, Jeremy Grass, and Leslie Crouse was an absolute blast, full of laughter and friendship. I can remember it as if it was yesterday. Tommy’s commitment to our league was unflinching, as seen by the fact that he dutifully served us FROM THE BEGINNING, beginning on February 6, 2013, and continuing for almost two years until the pace of his life began to slow him down.
His contributions to our pool community were extremely valuable, and his absence will be keenly missed by everyone who had the honor of getting to know him. We will never forget the legacy of friendship and sportsmanship that you, Thomas Mahoney, have left behind and it will live on in our hearts forever.
Your fellow pool players and friends will always remember you fondly, reflecting on the good times we had together and lamenting the absence of your presence in their lives. Tommy, our dear friend, rest in peace.
