Shirley O’Neal Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley C. O’Neal, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She departed this world on September 15, 2023, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s residence, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Shirley was a dedicated healthcare professional, having served as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medication Technician (CMT), and Restorative Aide at Signature Health Care of Hart County. Her commitment to caring for others reflected her compassionate nature and her contributions to the well-being of patients will always be remembered.
Beyond her professional life, Shirley embraced the joys of life with zest. She found solace in fishing and reveled in the adventures of traveling. Her vibrant spirit and warm heart endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shirley’s family was the center of her universe. She shared a loving and enduring bond with her husband of 50 years, Robert O’Neal. Their love story was an inspiration to all who witnessed it. Shirley is survived by her two devoted daughters, Jennifer Vance and Nichole Gibson, and their families, including four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family, Shirley is also survived by her sister, Lisa Cash, and her nephew, Allen Cash. Her special friend, Crystal Bennett, shared a unique connection with her, and an extra grandson, Dakota Burger, was an extension of her loving embrace.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Brooks Funeral Home on September 18 and 19, 2023. A funeral service, officiated by Bro. Matthew Wilson, will take place on September 19, 2023, followed by burial at the Concord Church Cemetery.
