Peggy Lane Obituary, Longtime Knightstown, Indiana Resident Has Passed Away

Peggy Lane Obituary, Death- The life of Peggy Ann Lane, 82, of Knightstown, Indiana, ended on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Her family took excellent care of her. Her parents, Rufus Miller and Sissy (Stevens) Miller, both passed away before she was born on April 27, 1941 in Russell County, Kentucky.

Peggy’s long tenure with International Furniture made her a household name in the Rushville area. In the sewing area, her quick fingers and wholehearted dedication were much appreciated. Peggy enjoyed sharing her knowledge of sewing and quilting with her loved ones in her spare time.

A tribute to her green thumb, her vibrant flower garden brought joy to all who visited. Although Peggy enjoyed her work, her family always came first. Her friendly personality allowed her to quickly form connections with people. Her boundless adoration for her grandchildren mirrored her devotion to the rest of her family.

She made precious memories with them that she will always cherish. As a member of the Knightstown congregation of Bethel Holiness Church, Peggy discovered solace and forged lasting friendships. She held the members of her church congregation near and dear because of the impact they had on her.

She spent her entire life with her husband of 66 years, T. Dale Lane, in Knightstown. Knightstown residents Tom (Roxanne) and Jeff (Linda) Lane are the keepers of Peggy’s family history. Chase Lane, Katlyn (Ryan) Ross, Colby (Kristen) Lane, and Kelton (Kendra) Lane were her favorite of her four grandchildren.

Peggy has eight great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Justin, Finley, Olivia, Rowan, Hunter, Kayson, and Dakota. Her passing has devastated her sister, Leva Riley of Warrington, and her many nieces and nephews. Pearl Popplewell, Todge Miller, William Miller, and Philip Miller were Peggy’s deceased parents and siblings.

A memorial ceremony for Peggy will be held at the Knightstown Chapel of Hinsey-Brown Funeral ceremony on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Reverends Jr. Maloyed and Stephen Davis will lead the service. Glen Cove Cemetery is where Peggy will be laid to rest after the funeral.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, and the service will start at 1:00 pm. The loving, giving, and positive spirit that Peggy possessed will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. The people she touched in the places she went will carry her memory with them forever. I hope that she is at peace now.
