Joan Elkins Obituary, Death- It is with great sadness that we must inform everyone of the demise of Joan Elkins, who was a much-loved member of our club. Joan was a beloved member of our community for a number of years, and she is particularly remembered for the time and effort she devoted to our iPad class.
Settlers Village was her most recent home, but she was a Junee native throughout her life. She passed away at Calvary Riverina Hospital in a serene environment, with her loved ones by her side. Joan was the much-loved mother of Julie, Bill, Greg, Paul, and Peter, in addition to being the much-loved wife of the late Tom, who predeceased her.
She was a loving mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother in addition to the dedicated mother she was to her own children and grandchildren. Everyone who had the good fortune to know Joan was profoundly impacted by her warmth, kindness, and unflinching support throughout their life. Her loved ones and friends will always have a special place in their hearts for her, and she will always be “loved and remembered every day.”
On the Monday the 28th of August 2023, the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Junee played host to a celebration of Joan’s life in the form of a Mass of Christian Burial. The memorial service was a manifestation of the adoration and reverence that she had amassed throughout the course of her life.
The people whose lives Joan changed, the knowledge and experience she passed on, and the love she showed to her family, friends, and community will carry on Joan’s legacy. We will never forget her, and she will be deeply missed by all of us here at the club. She will always have a place of honor in our hearts.
During this difficult time, we take comfort in the memories we have of Joan, and we offer our most heartfelt condolences to her family. We will miss Joan very much. We pray that her soul finds eternal rest in peace, and that her memory serves as a solace and a source of motivation for all of us.
