James Carroll Obituary, Death- James J. Carroll, also known as “Jimmy,” passed away suddenly on March 18, 2019, in Fishkill, New York. James, who had lived to the ripe old age of 69, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of fond memories for all who knew and loved him.
James Carroll was born on August 19, 1954, to Charles J. and Muriel (Halpin) Carroll in Warwick, New York. He wore the uniform of the United States Army with honor and served his country for a time. After his time in the military, James went to work as a corrections officer at Green Haven Prison, where he remained until his retirement in 2012.
His dedication and expertise in this position will be remembered for a long time. James was an avid baseball enthusiast and a die-hard supporter of the New York Yankees. His enthusiasm for the game shone through whether he was rooting for his preferred club or debating the finer points of strategy with other fans. Aside from baseball, James enjoyed playing golf, listening to a wide variety of music, seeing interesting movies, and following a number of different sports.
He was just as passionate about his prized possession, a Dodge Challenger, as he was about anything else. His two sons, Charles and James, and his cherished grandson, Charles Jr., will miss him dearly. James is also survived by his two loving sisters, Kathleen and Nancy, as well as many cousins and friends who will miss his infectious smile and infectious laugh.
James’s beloved older brother Timothy Carroll before him in death and the two are now reunited in their parents’ eternal embrace. The Carroll family would appreciate privacy while they mourn and reflect on James’s wonderful life.
