Always a worker, she adored serving family and guests. Ask anyone in the family who cooked best—Granny. Many nieces and nephews considered her a second mother. Her parents, husband, Leonard Schlifer, brothers Ocie and Jimmy D. Mills, sisters Yvonne Hinton and Kathrine Kitchens, and sisters died before her.

She leaves her three children, Cheryle (Mark) Turner of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Frank Schlifer of Atmore, Alabama, and James Theodore Schlifer of Atmore, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jarod (Corrie) Turner, Corissa (Jarod) Burch, Ryane (Erin) Schlifer, Tanner Schlifer; five great-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Aires Adkins and Mar Monday, September 25, 2023, at Holley Assembly of God Church 4006 FL-87 Navarre, Florida 32566, visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:00 pm and the service at 12:00 pm. The family would like to thank her sisters Lisa and Aires for their help when she and Leonard lived in Atmore.
