Donna Broyles Obituary, Death- On September 19, 2023, at 3:06 a.m., surrounded by her beloved family in her beloved home in Wapato, Washington, Donna Mae Broyles, a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and pillar of her community, departed this life gently. Donna Phelps was born on March 4, 1932, to Ollie and Theodore Phelps of Kansas City, Missouri.
When she married Jacob Arthur Broyles on April 28, 1951, she began a journey of love and dedication that would last a lifetime. Donna’s life was a picture of unconditional love and service, woven into a stunning tapestry. She left an indelible mark on the lives of numerous people via her compassion and kindness, making her a brilliant example of a life well-lived.
Donna was an actress who played several parts over her life. Her three children, Kenneth Broyles (Cynthia), Patricia McGarity (Gene), and Ronald Broyles, were blessed to have such a devoted mother. Her delight and happiness as a grandmother were boundless as she witnessed the successes of her grandchildren: April Bankord (Douglas), Michael Broyles (Jennifer), Jeffrey McGarity (Erika), Jonathan Broyles (Carrie), James McGarity, Kimberly Roman (David), and Heather Daigle (Ray).
She found great joy in spending time with her 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. There was no limit to Donna’s dedication to her neighborhood. She shone in her commitment to the Harrah Assembly of God and her belief in the saving power of Jesus Christ. Together with her devoted husband, Jacob, she pioneered bus ministries and championed the value of Vacation Bible School in an effort to lead others closer to God.
Donna ministered and shared her love with others from her home even as her health deteriorated. Donna’s generosity of heart wasn’t limited to her immediate relatives. She leaves left a loving legacy in the form of the many children she fostered and cared for during her respite work.
Donna follows in the footsteps of those she loved, including her late husband Jacob, her sisters Dorothy Clement and Shirley Makus, and her granddaughter Jennifer McGarity and great-granddaughter Erin Broyles. Donna’s death leaves a huge hole in the lives of her loved ones, even if she and her husband are finally at peace together in heaven.
