For almost 25 years, Dick was an integral part of FBA as an economist, giving essential insights and advice on countless data services reports. The value of his contributions to FBA cannot be overstated, and the company counts itself fortunate to have worked with someone of his caliber.
Dick’s incredible life is evidence of his dedication to greatness. As a result of his exceptional intelligence and hard work, he was able to graduate in the top one percent of his West Point class. His military service stretched an incredible 38 years, during which time he rose to the rank of Major General and was awarded the Presidential Bronze Star for his outstanding contributions to the defense of the United States.
Dick Storat’s tenure as Chief Economist at the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) was just one of his numerous contributions to the paper industry. He was also widely respected for his work as a consultant for a wide range of groups and associations; among them was the Fibre Box Association. Those who were lucky enough to know Dick Storat will remember him not only for his professional accomplishments.
For his genuine warmth, decency, and unflinching support. All who met him will forever remember him for his kindness and generosity. It is with mixed emotions that we commemorate the life of a wonderful economist, leader, and friend who has passed away, and grieve his loss. Our hearts go out to Dick’s loved ones and friends at this time of loss.
A memorial service for Dick Storat will be held. More information about the service. The family would like memorial contributions be made in Dick’s name to Charity/Organization, as this was a cause near and dear to his heart. The world is a darker place without Dick Storat here, but his light will live on in our memories. Peace be with him forever.
