When I was a member of the Gaff Angling Club a good number of years ago, I had the privilege of getting to know Davy, and it was immediately apparent to me that he was a true luminary in the world of angling.

Davy’s knowledge was a tremendous resource for all of us, whether it pertained to the subtleties of casting or the nuances of choosing the ideal bait.

Above all things, he was the epitome of the word “gentleman.” All those who came into contact with him were immediately drawn to him due to the generosity of his spirit, the warmth of his smile, and his readiness to help anyone in need.

The indelible imprint that Davy’s soothing and reassuring presence, as well as his genuine concern for the health and happiness of people around him, left on our hearts will never be forgotten. As we say our goodbyes to Davy Campbell, we will remember not only the incredible fishing skills he possessed but also the profound influence that his generosity and modesty had on all of us.
