Arlan Burghdoff Obituary, Beloved Port Barre, LA Resident Has Passed Away

Arlan Burghdoff Obituary, Death- Arlan Burghdoff, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandpa, died on September 18, 2023, leaving us with a legacy of love and warmth. Born in Opelousas, Louisiana, on February 11, 1957, Arlan touched many people with his vivid attitude and loving heart.

Services will commemorate Arlan’s life. Sibille Funeral Home at 402 Saizan Ave in Port Barre, LA, will host a visitation on September 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Another visitation will be held at the same place on September 22, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

At Sibille Funeral Home on September 21, a rosary in remembrance of Arlan will be recited from 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Arlan’s memorial Mass will be performed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 403 Saizan Ave, Port Barre, LA, at 1:00 PM on September 22nd. After the Mass, Arlan will be buried at Port Barre’s Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

US Marine Corps Veteran Arlan enthusiastically served his country. His selflessness and determination show his bravery and character. Arlan was talented and passionate outside of the military. He loved music and found his rhythm behind the drums and singing with the Cajun Crossroads Band. Arlan made unique jewelry that family and friends treasured.

Arlan relaxed by bass fishing and playing pool. He connected with nature and shared laughter with others through these hobbies. Arlan’s family will always remember him riding his scooter chair and spreading joy. His family will always remember Arlan. His wife of 43 years, Carolyn Robin Burghdoff, lives on, a tribute to their love and shared experiences.

Their gorgeous family will continue Arlan’s legacy. Sons Steffen and Colby Burghdoff, daughters Hollie and Daisha Gravouia, brothers Bradley, John Craig, and Mark O’Connor, sister Debbie Hebert, and grandchildren Braylon, Jace, Leah Daigle, Cole, Wyatt, Lexi, Brenna Gravouia, Bentley Taylor, and Henry Fontenot will lovingly remember Arlan.

His parents, Jack and Janice Burghdoff, sister, Evy Nicole Coffelt, and granddaughter, Alli Gravouia, predeceased Arlan. Steffen, Colby, Braylon, Jace, Mark O’Connor, and Elvin Tookie Fontenot will be pallbearers. Bradley, John Craig, and Mitchell Burghdoff will be honorary pallbearers.
